Some days later, after enjoying (and begrudgingly sharing) your ill-gotten treats, you decide to light the candle from the haunted house in your room. At first, it makes a faint yellow glow. Then, a looming feeling of dread descends, and the room starts to feel darker. You try to blow it out, but the flame lingers. You take it to a sink, which does the trick. You resolve to chuck it into the ocean, and achieve that goal shortly after.

Days after this, you read a story about legions of dead fish washing up near the area you disposed of the candle. A cold shudder crawls down your spine, but better them than me you suppose.

That night, as you drift off to sleep in your own safe bed, you have a troubled dream. You see a room with a small box filled with treasure, and realize it's in that haunted house! If only you'd known! Then you dream you're drowning at sea, surrounded by angry rotting fish corpses which bite your body.

As you wake, you're plagued with guilt and regret, and though you promise yourself not to go back to that house for the treasure, this sense of regret, and dreams of dead fish every night, colour your days until you pass away.

You failed to get the treasure. And you caused a massive fish die-off.

Sorry, but go back to main menu, you living environmental disaster.
